Since January 2012, Sal has been touring and promoting his latest record called “Lives In Devil City,” a catchy, infectious, and driving Rock n’ Roll Tour De Force. Songs from the album have received significant radio airplay across Canada and the US, and his fan base has been steadily expanding with the added exposure of his music, as well as his touring with his enigmatic live show.  At the end of 2012, Sal won in the “Best Hard Rock” category at Barrie’s New Music Fest, ranked #3 (out of hundreds world wide) for a coveted showcase spot in the 2012 MIDEM Showcase competition in Cannes, France, and placed as a finalist in multiple songwriting competitions across North America.  A clip from one of Sal’s songs, “Free Money,” was also used earlier this year in an episode of the popular History Channel show “American Pickers,” as well as having his song “What’cha Say,” featured in the indie film, “Donnie Dumphy-How To Be Deadly,” which showcased at most major movie festivals across the globe, including the Sundance Film Festival, as well as the Toronto International Film Festival. Earlier this year, Sal ambitiously recorded and produced a rock-driving version of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep,” which has already been downloaded more than 2000 times, and which quickly became the 3rd most active Indie Release in Canada after only a few days of being released independently, as well as recording an original Military Tribute Song called “LIBERTÀ,” with an accompanying video (also on YouTube), where he is donating 100% of the download proceeds equally to 2 military charities: Wounded Warriors (Canada) & Homes For Our Troops (US).  Surprisingly, 101.9 DAWG-FM (the only major blues station in Canada), was quick to jump in on the momentum and hype, adding “Hard Luck Woman,” a bluesier/rock single from Sal’s last album to full rotation. As a result of the response to this single, Sal promptly returned to the recording studio where he tracked 7 new catchy songs, capturing an array of musical textures ranging from blues, to swamping delta, to country, to folk, soul, and of course rock. This album has been recorded under the moniker, “The Devil City Saints,” and will be available in mid-late November 2013. Industry Quotes:

“Ottawa’s Sal Piamonte has crafted a rare CD that manages to showcase both songwriting and performance right out of the starting gate with all cylinders firing…This is a slick, major label looking, and sounding tour de force…Piamonte has managed to assemble a million dollar record on an indie budget.” Jaimie Vernon, Cashbox Canada

“Sal clearly possesses enough musical talent and songwriting prowess to be extremely dangerous.” Cyrus Rhodes, MuseMuse.com Reviews

“Canadian rocker SAL PIAMONTE definitely has all it takes to become the next big Rockstar.” Strutterzine Magazine

“Lives In Devil City is a trip to Piamonte’s (albeit positive at times) underworld that garners a solid A-rating. Totally unexpected at times and through and through the guy can belt out and write some very modern rock tracks.” Melissa Kucirek, Suite101.com Reviews

“Where it is a major struggle for acts to continually innovate and change up their sound on an album, Piamonte is able to come forth with a scintillating tour de force through the different sides of modern and current rock. I feel that Piamonte will be rocketing up the charts just as soon as a wider swath of listeners are able to pick up this album.” James McQuiston, Neufutur.com Reviews

“Piamonte has all the skills and elements for creating good melodic hard rock. Not the least of which are his strong vocals and vocal arrangements, hook-laden and catchy song writing, and intense sense of melody and pacing. Add some sterling production and this album buzzes with thrills and intensity. This indie project sounds likes a big budget production, totally first class.”  Craig Hartranft, Dangerdog Music Reviews
